Polyethene Essays - Commodity Chemicals, Packaging Materials

Polyethene Polyethylene otherwise called polyethylene or polythene, was the first of the polymers to be found. Polyethene is a polymer created by responding oxygen also, ethene, in this response the little ethene atoms append together to shape long chain polymer atoms. This procedure is known as expansion polymerisation. Polyethene in our present reality has numerous utilizations, a portion of these are: ? moldings-plastic jugs, tops and tops, various sorts of compartments. ? films-happy wrap and different plastic sacks. ? link covers different channels and protecting wire and links As you can see polyethene has a colossal assortment of both residential and mechanical utilizations, this is genuinely noteworthy when you see that polyethene has as it were been around sense 1933. Polyethene is a thermoplastic material which is frequently portrayed as wax-like it is incredibly extreme and is has a fantastic substance obstruction. It is additionally less thick than water and is the least difficult polymer, these credits lead to polythene being an amazingly valuable substance. Ethene (C2H4), is a straightforward hydrocarbon particle which comprises of 2 carbon iotas and 4 hydrogen molecules. Ethene's primary use is in the creation of polythene yet it is one of the most generally utilized petrochemicals on the planet. Ethene is an unsaturated dismal gas which can be lighted within the sight of oxygen. The following is a graph of ethene: Polyethene is created by permitting the free wandering ethene gas particles to bond together to shape long chain polyethene atoms. All together for this to work an impetus must be utilized, an impetus is a substance that can adjust the pace of a concoction response without experiencing any compound change itself. During this procedure a huge number of ethene atoms attach to from each atom of polyethene. Polyethene is basically a lot of ethene atoms reinforced together to frame a chain, these chains can regularly extend up to numerous multiple occasions longer than the first ethene atom. The following is a graph of polyethene: Albeit ordinarily ethene monomers have little fascination for each other, yet the polyethene particles have a solid fascination for each other. When polyethene particles are pulled in and bond high-thickness polyethene is framed, along these lines polyethene is either framed by low-thickness or high-thickness polymerisation. Ethene can experience the procedure called polymerisation because of the way that it is unsaturated and in light of the fact that it has a twofold security between its two carbon molecules. Both High-thickness and low-thickness polyethene have various employments. Low-thickness polyethene is utilized in the creation of items, for example, different packs, plastic bottles, stick wraps, and protecting links. Low weight polymerisation with the utilization of specific impetuses; has implied that the procedure of polymerization can be accomplished at genuinely low weight (20 environments or 2000 kPa) and at temperatures of roughly 100?C. The reactor itself contains a polyethene bed put on a punctured plate. It works by permitting the reused gas to enter close to its base, the gas at that point goes through the plate and pushes up through the bed making it bubble. At long last the impetus changes over the ethene to polyethene, once the polyethene is cooled it frames a fine powder called 'cushion' which is at that point gathered and moved to a capacity canister. Any ethene gas which has not responded goes through a blower and afterward a cooler, and is prepared once more. High-thickness polyethene is utilized to create things, for example, covers, tops, bushels, bowls and huge holders, for example, trash canisters. These polyethene items are made in what is know as high-pressure polymerisation, this is a procedure that was initially utilized before low-pressure polymerisation was found and along these lines it is a genuinely basic procedure. Right off the bat Ethene gas is packed and condensed, from here it is siphoned into an enormous reactor at a weight of up to 2660 atmospheres(266 Mpa). Among this oxygen and peroxides are siphoned in to start the polymerisation response. This procedure produces a colossal measure of heat so the most perplexing piece of the framework is the cooling offices. The numerous results of polyethene which are most ordinarily utilized are commonly made utilizing any of these five distinct methods Extrusion - film, this strategy is utilized for the creation of things, for example, plastic packs, for example, trash sacks and happy wrap. These are the most well-known applications, while there are numerous others these are the best instances of this method. This last item is accomplished by blowing air into a container of liquid plastic this takes into account very fine layers of the plastic to shape. Blow shaping, this is utilized to make plastic jugs and some engine oils. This method is a lot of like the past

Advice From Parents College Admissions Financing

HomeFinanceAdvice From Parents: College Admissions FinancingThis page may contain affiliate links.Aug 17, 2018 When it comes to the difficult, complex parts of life, there’s nothing like getting advice from someone who’s been there. That’s why we love our Facebook group, Paying for College 101. Our community share advice and tips with each other every single day. No matter where a family is in the process, there’s something to learn and something to share! Here’s some recent advice that came out of our Facebook group. We’d love to have you in our community as well – join today! Choosing Where to Apply Financially One of the things parents talk about in our group often is how to set their student’s expectations for where they can attend school. Many times students – especially those who excel – assume they can go anywhere they want. What they don’t realize is that highly selective schools don’t offer merit aid. As a result, unless they have significant financial need, the university will not help them pay for school. One parent said, â€Å"When my son was looking for a college to attend, the first thing I would do was look at cost. If it was cost prohibitive (more than 35K including housing) I wouldnt even let him apply. That narrowed our pool greatly. We couldnt get our hopes up for that one scholarship that might come in because we wanted to be able to do it without the scholarship money. He ended up at a college out of state and ended up with the Presidential Scholarship which was icing on the cake!† Another parent helpfully pointed out, â€Å"You are NOT where you attend!† Don’t let naysayers hold your student back from a reasonable school. Ultimately, it’s your child’s and your family’s future at stake! Get the Help You Need Some high schools have great guidance counselors that help families tremendously when it comes to college admission. Unfortunately, many others do not. Because counselors see so many students and have to help so many families, they have a hard time being familiar with the specifics of your situation. One parent pointed out, â€Å"Counselors have very limited information to assist your child in knowing what may or may not be financially feasible for your child. In some schools, counselors are barely keeping their head above water doing day-to-day stuff beyond creating a personalized plan of action for every senior they see.† If you have access to classes that help students and parents learn about the realities of the college process, take them! Sometimes there’s an information night, or there may be a multi-week class. Attend and take your student with you! You can’t start your research too early. If it’s already senior year, you’ve probably missed some valuable opportunities. You can start moving the process forward during the freshman year, and take steps each year afterward. Know the Reality of Merit Aid Many of the parents in our group said they were surprised by the lack of merit aid for their hard-working student. One parent said, â€Å"Mine had an amazing resume, GPA, scores and certified EMT at the same time during senior year with multiple AP and DE classes. Worked, volunteered etc. No merit aid anywhere.† Before you get discouraged, keep in mind that the most competitive private schools do NOT offer merit aid. Many times these hardworking students are shooting for the most elite schools – and they will not get merit aid there! Instead, consider having your student apply at a school where they will be among the top applicants. You can see the average test scores and GPAs of the last freshman class on most school websites. If your student would be in the top tier at that college, they are more likely to be offered merit aid. Understand the Return on Investment For the College Major It’s hard to insist that an 18-year-old know what they want to do with their lives, but it’s vital to choose a degree that will give them the ability to pay off any student loans. Someone who is uncertain can get a general business degree, but often students know what they want to do. From being a veterinarian to being a nurse to being a teacher, there are dozens and dozens of programs available. Sometimes a school choice will be limited by the major. There may only be a few schools around you with strong electrical engineering programs, for instance. That’s an important factor in choosing where to apply. Many times an educational exchange can help. Be aware which dream jobs require advanced education because this will require additional funds. One parent shared, â€Å"My oldest loved her time out of state but her job choice (audiologist) requires a doctorate. So she’s applying now to a graduate/doctorate programs and is realizing she should’ve stayed in state for her bachelors. Or even done two years of community college. Oh well. Lesson learned.† Our parents are happy to share their experiences – good and bad – with other members of the group. There’s nothing like getting advice from someone who’s been there. We’re grateful to have these great families in our online community! Are you looking for help paying for college? We’re here for you. Check out our scholarship toolkit today!

Its subject is how work forces in power give rise to political orientations to function their intents. and subsequently destruct them when they become useless. It was foremost performed on 16 December 1972. by the Progressive Drama Association. Pune. OutlineThe drama begins with an supplication to lord Ganesha. Then the Brahmins of Pune introduce themselves and we can see the morally corrupt province of personal businesss in Pune. Nana Phadnavis who is the Diwan ( Chief Secretary ) of Pune is besides corrupt and visits the lavani terpsichorean. Ghashiram is working with the lavani terpsichorean. Ghashiram being a Brahmin goes to roll up alms at the Peshwa’s festival the following twenty-four hours. However he is abused at that place and is charged with pick-pocketing and imprisoned for the offense. He so decides to take retaliation. Ghashiram barters his ain girl to acquire the station of Kotwal ( police head ) of Pune from Nana. Having got the station he begins to implement rigorous regulations in the metropolis. He starts inquiring for licenses for everything and starts throwing people in gaol for the smallest offenses. In the average clip. Ghashiram’s girl is impregnated by Nana. and dies during childbearing. The state of affairs goes out of manus when a few people in the gaol die out of asphyxiation. The Brahmins so complain to the Peshwa. The Peshwa biddings Nana who orders Ghashiram to be killed in the most derogative manner possible. Vijay Dhondo Tendulkar was an high Marathi dramatist. screenplay author and a journalist. He began composing in the 1950ss but his signature manner began to develop clearly with his association with the experimental theater motion which was a beginning of modernism in Marathi literature. His dramas like ‘Maanus Navache Bet’ . ’Shantata tribunal chalu ahe’ and ‘Kavlyanchi Shala’ gained him celebrity. But the drama that brought him the much awaited awards was Ghashiram Kotwal. Ghashiram Kotwal a drama by Tendulkar showcased the corruptness in the society during the Peshwa regime. His character of Ghashiram is a word picture of the working category in Pune and how the Brahmin domination prevalent so lead to the subjugation of the lower categories. Tendulkar has subtly shown what power does to work forces and how they become cold and avaricious merely to accomplish that. The drama so made into a book has a historic context. The thought that most st rikes the audience is Tendulkar’s ethical concern which is rather outstanding throughout the book-from his apprehension of relationships to efficaciously covering with the societal immoralities of those times that keeps us involved in the characters is their simpleness and realistic perceptual experience on the portion of the author. All the characters seem so much like the people we see or run into or hold met sometime. Besides Tendulkar is non a author who is struck with the Bharatmata Syndrome and explains the acrimonious world of the Indian society without glazing anything. The narrative begins with Ghashiram a Kanauji Brahmin coming to the metropolis of Pune to seek his fortune and derive some money from the so rich metropolis. His first visual aspect is in Bavankhanni a ruddy light country in Pune where he is dancing as a foil to Gulabi a lavani terpsichorean. Beginnning as gulabi’s retainer he graduates to going the retainer of Nana Phadavnis the adversary who is the Chancellor of the Exchequer of the Peshwa. Initially. Ghashiram is portrayed as an obedient retainer to Nana but as clip goes by due to the ailment intervention he gets from Nana and the Brahmins in Pune he becomes power hungry. To the extent of giving his adolescent girl Lalitagouri to the old Nana merely to acquire the respectable sta tion of the Kotwal. Ghashiram who is oppressed ab initio now becomes the oppressor as power evokes a sense of laterality in him. Tendulkar cleverly portrays the societal immoralities in the society during the Peshwa regulation. Prostitution. corruptness. the power construction and the ignorance on the portion of people is rather apparent from an incidence when the full Pune Brahmins visit Bavankhanni while their married womans stay home waiting for the hubbies. What is different is Tendulkar’s manner of explicating the narrative efficaciously through the Sutradhar or the storyteller and the assorted characters and their changing relationships. What happens to Ghashiram in the terminal comes as a entire daze to the readers. All in all Ghashiram Kotwal is a dateless piece of composing. The issues that are chiefly dealt with in the book still remain the same even after so many old ages. Womans still continue to be the ruled 1s and the caste struggle has now become the category struggle where the rich dominate the hapless and the rhythm continues. It highlights the rough world that even when times change human nature remains the same. Greed and lecherousness for money were. are and will ever be in human nature†¦ In 1972. Tendulkar wrote another. even much more acclaimed drama. Ghashiram Kotwal ( â€Å"Officer Ghashiram† ) . which dealt with political force. The drama is a political sarcasm created as a musical play set in eighteenth century Pune. It combined traditional Marathi common people music and play with modern-day theatre techniques. making a new paradigm for Marathi theatre. With over six 1000 public presentations therefore far in its original and translated versions. â€Å"Ghashiram Kotwal† remains one of the longest-running dramas in the history of Indian theatre

Tulving and Pearlstone Essay Example

Tulving and Pearlstone Paper These results show a clear difference in the number of words recalled between participants using free and cued recall. The mean score has a difference of 19. 3. This is a large difference and shows a considerable insight to the input cues have on the recovery of information from the memory. It accepts the encoding-specificity principle by Tulving and Thompson (1973). It also accepts the experimental hypothesis; the participants given retrieval cues did recall more words from the list than participant using free recall. These results reflect those gained from the study by Tulving and Pearlstone (1966) (Calculations in appendix) Discussion The results show that a person will remember more words when an appropriate cue is available as shown in the graph thus accepting the experimental hypothesis. The participants using cued recall received a mean average of 36. 5 words recalled. The range from 22-43 whilst the participants using free recall received a mean average of 17. 2 words recalled, with the range from 13-21. This shows that anomalies have not affected the result. One way in which the experiment was limited and could have been affected by is the environment it was conducted in and the participants used. The participants were all Exeter College students and have chosen to further their education, their brain is still being trained so may be more susceptible to remembering information. Many students are often asked to take part in experiments so may have been using demand characteristics, which means they might have known the study is about retrieval failure and might already have known the study that was being partially replicated. If this experiment were to be conducted using members of the public the results may have been different but the outcome would be the same. This is because results from the Tulving and Pearlstone study suggests this but also anyone given cues are likely to recall more information than if they are not given cues. A way to improve this study would be to conduct it in a controlled environment, free of any distractions so that the participants were concentrating solely on the experiment. This experiment was conducted using opportunity sampling, often in busy locations. This could have affected the results by diverting the participants concentration and other information would have prevented the participant from rehearsing the words. As future research one suggestion would be to concentrate on whether there was a pattern relating to the participants sex and the score they gained. To conclude, the results show that the recall of information is greatly improved when retrieval cues are available, a significant difference in the amount of words is visible. This agrees with the results gained from the investigation by Tulving and Pearlstone (1966). This study provides evidence that the free recall group knew more than they could recall, this can be stated as both groups experienced the same conditions during the learning phase and yet the cued recall group could recall far more words.

The Definition of the N Word Essay Example

The Definition of the N Word Essay Example The Definition of the N Word Essay The Definition of the N Word Essay A word everyone is afraid to define except in utter seriousness, for fear of being branded racist, in total ignorance of the everyday usage of the word, it’s portrayal in popular culture, and the populations of the people it is used by. The definition of this word can be determined by the context and the quantifiers that are used before and after it. It is a word that can have a derogatory meaning or a complimentary meaning. It can be defined as a black person, a slave, or offensive slang. It can also be defined as a brother, a friend, or cousin, if it is being used in a playful way. This word is also referred to as the â€Å"N† word. One can’t explain the guilt felt when even just typing the word Nigger. Although many African Americans support the use of the word nigger in certain circumstances, the mass majority of African Americans who lived in the times where whites used the word in order to degrade African Americans would passionately believe that the word nigger should be eliminated from all forms of language. Consequently, people should never use the word nigger because not only does represent shamefulness, but also the word can serve as a double standard when non-blacks say it. Before the post-Civil Rights era, whites would frequently use the word nigger to social degrade and humiliate blacks. During this time, southern whites would commonly use the word nigger instead of Negro in order to represent superiority over the blacks. This was especially common for slave owners to refer to their slaves as niggers in order to both debase the slaves below human beings and to show ownership over their lives. Even though racist slave owners and other whites called blacks niggers during slave times, southern whites also referred to blacks as niggers throughout more than half of 20th Century. Where did the word nigger originate? Honestly, the whereabouts of the birthplace of the word nigger is still being debated. The immersion of the word however will never be forgotten. It would seem that nigger would come to be a derogatory nickname for African Americans. There has never, since the creation of the word nigger, been such a word that has had such an extensive impact. However, over the course of time, the nigger has evolved in pronunciation, usage, and meaning. Nigger is frequently traced to the Latin word niger, meaning black. The appearance of the word, at first, had no negative intentions. By the early 1800s it was established as a derogatory nickname. Ironically the area it was first used in this context in America, during slavery. Whether spoken, written, or shown in the media, reflect on the mass network of the anti-black prejudice. Nigger carried with it the anger, hatred, and disgust with it. It was used as noun, verb, and adjective to enforce the stereotype of Blacks being ignorant, lazy, dirty, and worthless. Nigger was used to strengthen words such as: Niggerish, Nigger-flicker, Nigger rich, and many, many more. The ladder of power suggested that the intimidation, deceit, and exploitation of blacks, was to help keep them in their place. From ministers to scientist the desire to prove that whites were superior to blacks was, in every way, socially acceptable. Of course with no choice but to take the demeaning abuse, blacks endured the ridicule. Even though the word nigger can represent a friendship between two blacks, there is definitely no need for the word ever to be used because if a white guy ever said whats up nigger spontaneously to one of his black friends, then out of instinct the black guy would receive a derogatory connotation because it was a white guy using the word. Now, how is it not a double standard if a black person can say the word nigger to another black person and the situation is normal, however if a white person refers to a black person as nigger than all hell breaks loose? If black people argue that this double standard is ok, then for example if it was socially acceptable for white people to refer to other white people as crackers but socially unacceptable for black people to refer to white people as crackers. Civil rights organizations like the N. A. A. C. P. ould consider this racist of whites and file lawsuits for being discriminated against being allowed to refer to a white person as a cracker. The use of the word nigger is forbidden on television and almost all forms of public television because nigger is considered to be a racial slur, however, the word cracker which is racial slur against whites is completely acceptable on all forms of public entertainment. Overall, whether the word nigger is used a friendly situation or with intent to degrade another black person, the word always carries a socially inappropriate connotation and should never be used. Those blacks that argue that the word is acceptable under special circumstances when blacks use it amongst other blacks tend to be of youthful age and are completely naive and ignorant to the history and true definition of the word. To even consider referring to another human being of a different race as being worthless and less of a human being than myself is not only unethical, but also completely immoral. In addition, the double standard that the word possesses is entirely inappropriate because the idea that the color of a persons skin grants him or her special permission to say certain words is just absurd.

Mini-Project Assignment 1 Short Report on Current Information Essay

Mini-Project Assignment 1 Short Report on Current Information Technology - Essay Example Analyzing Italy’s market is imperative and the manner through which this is done is by looking at the P.E.S.T situation of the country alongside the seven P’s of marketing. Italy has been a democratic nation for 46 years now; thus, the political environment is reputable for the marketing of the product. This is from the fact that with the democracy, the government does not inhibit the citizens from purchasing products at will. Moreover, the democracy also allows the United States, the producer of the ipad, to venture into the Italian market easily and consequently have increased sales of the ipad (Fleisher, 2008, 169). The fact that the country has a well laid out judicial system is also important for the marketing of the new ipad. This is from the fact that there is control on the decisions that powerful politicians make. An example is a politician who may talk ill of the ipad and tell people not to purchase it. Such cases are few - the concept of freedom and independe nce is incorporated in the Italian market. One factor that may come as a disadvantage in the marketing of the ipad is with regards to the tax tariffs that the country has. Lately, Italy has set its tariffs very high in an effort to boost its economy. With the increased tariffs, the country will have reduced imports and – consequently – the goods within the country will increase in sales. With this the standards ought to increase and make the economy of the country boost. The issue of tariffs was induced by the executive arm of the government and has been a major hindrance to the sale of products. This factor is bound to affect the marketing of the product in the country (Henry, 2009, 48). Shifting focus to the economic aspect of the country, Italy’s economy is rated eighth largest in the world. This has been effective in ensuring that the circulation of products in the country is well above average. Moreover, this means that most citizens in the country are stab le thus being in a position to market the ipad. This brings down the fears that one may have when introducing the ipad into the Italian market. It is also important to understand the fact that country’s economy is not stagnant but rather on the rise from the various measures taken by the government such as increased taxation (Cohen, 2011, 68). This ensures that the citizens of the country are always up and busy to ensure that they achieve their goals while living a comfortable life. Introduction of the ipad into the market would work great to ensure that these people are always informed on the changing market trends by using the device. This acts as a positive impact on the sale of the ipad, and so there is the need to introduce it into the Italian market. The transport sector is one other factor to consider with regards to the marketing of the ipad in Italy. Italy’s economy has been stable, and ensuring infrastructure development is a key aspect in the country. Italy has well established roads that generate a huge income for the government. The fact that these roads are in great conditions ensures the sale of the ipad is in huge amounts due to accessibility of even the remote areas in the country. This would mean that the incorporation of the ipad into the Italian market would fetch the company a lot of money from many users that would get to know about it. Italy also has rating as one of the wealthiest countries in the world. This

Rising demand for these products was due to the ease in preparation with minimal time involved, which is highly valued by Filipinos with busy lifestyles and busy consumer foodservice operators as brewing fresh coffee makes it difficult to meet demand. Nevertheless, the type of instant coffee used in on-trade establishments is usually different from off-trade brands as food establishments with high volume consumption commonly work with coffee manufacturers to produce customised mixes made from freshly-ground coffee beans and with added flavours, but come in instant powder format. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE In 2010, Nestle Philippines continued to dominate coffee with an 81% share of off-trade volume sales and an 89% share of off-trade value sales. This was mainly due to the strong brand recognition of Nescafe, as its name is synonymous with coffee in the Philippines, and the extensive distribution network in both modern and traditional retail channels. The well-diversified product portfolio of Nescafe in instant coffee has also enabled the company to capture a broader range of consumers – from low-income Filipinos to health conscious coffee drinkers. PROSPECTS Longer working hours and busier lifestyles for Filipinos, along with the desire to streamline operations amongst foodservice establishments, are all expected to increase the demand for instant coffee mixes over the forecast period. Nevertheless, consumption of fresh coffee is expected to improve over the same period. Higher demand should be driven by a niche group of affluent consumers who are willing to pay more and focus on quality rather than convenience.

A Comparison of On the Road and Crying of Lot 49 Essay -- comparison c

In both Jack Kerouac’s, On the Road, and Thomas Pynchon’s Crying of Lot 49 the characters act in a deviant manner outside of social norms. This in turn leads to a deviant sub-cultural group which competes with the institutionalized authorities for power. Deviance in both novels is usually defined as a certain type of behaviour, such as an inebriated professor babbling on in a lecture hall filled with students or a group of teenagers frolicking naked in a city park on a hot and sunny afternoon. However, deviance can also encompass both ideas and attributes (Sagarin, 1975). The primary understanding of deviance rests in the reactions of observers, something becomes deviant because an individual, group or society takes offense and reacts negatively (Cohen, 1966, Lofland, 1969). These negative reactions occur because onlookers interpret what they see and hear as being bad, insane, strange, immoral, non-conforming, or wrong. Negative responses do more than define deviance; t hey serve as mechanisms of social control and power. In examining these novels from a sociological perspective, both Kerouac and Pynchon examine conflicts between mainstream society and sub-cultural groups. The deviant behaviour, thoughts, and attributes observed from the characters within the novels provide a strong argument for Austin Turk’s conflict theory of deviance, which examines power and cultural conflict as a basis for deviant behaviour. To begin, Austin Turk’s conflict theory of crime divides society into two groups: those with power "the authorities" and those without power "the subjects". In Pynchon’s novel The Crying Of Lot 49, this is realized by contrasting Pierce Inverarity, a California real estate mogul to those of low social economic class... ...sh-Catholic background, and his resemblance to a Fitzgerald hero, with a tragic death and foul dust floating in the wake of his dreams (153).    However, both of the novels express those subjects living by values beyond the social norms as having some power to change societal norms. By examining Turk’s theory of conflict between authorities and subjects, it becomes apparent the deviant behaviour observed from the characters in both novels is an influencing method of power to alter cultural and societal norms.      WORKS CITED Dugdale, John. Journal Reflection on Barbie Dolls

Now I believe that childhood is the best phase of life. One never ever gets those experiences again during the rest of his life. One can see God in a child. The child has his innocence and the love he gets every time from everybody around. The child has the best grasping and memory during the phase of 2yrs. to 6yrs. This stays in memory through out the whole life. How can I forget my childhood days? Yes, I have very clear picture of my childhood days. I was the first child of my parents and as we stayed with our grandparents, I was pet and beloved one for them as well. I had my colorful room with all eye catchy colored things like my bed, clothes, wall hangings and room full of toys (decorations) and I was really crazy for all that exciting toys. I always wanted to play with all at a time, but out of that there was one particular toy (which is still preserved) that was part of my heart, soul and body. It never allowed any tears to flow from my eyes, but the moment it was for any reason away from me the tears never stopped flowing from my eyes. My attachment was 24X7 with it. It was none other than my precious BARBIE DOLL. I don’t know why, but I had a special affection, love, emotion, attachment and craze for that doll. I never ever allowed anyone to even touch that doll. My Barbie had long blond hair, blue eyes, long eye lashes and pink lips. Her waist was real skinny and her toes were flat with high heels. I loved my Barbie doll. She was more like a lively person (doll) to me. I had many friends but Barbie was my best friend, who knew everything about me, including my top secrets. I had a separate closet of clothes and shoes for her. I used to give a bath to her, dress her up everyday and take her with me where ever I went out with my parents or friends. I don’t know why I loved her and had so much affection towards her. May be I loved Barbie because I was girl and many girls were crazy about Babies. I don’t remember my memories from my childhood but this memory stayed with me till now and will always stay with me for my lifetime. This is my unforgettable Barbie love memory ever in my future lifetime. I really loved my Barbie doll.

Sociology Reflection Paper - 1201 Words

Sociology Reflection Paper When I first decided to go back to school at the ripe age of 33, I had no idea what I wanted to study. I had recently closed my Pedorthic business and needed a change. Due to my fulltime job and five children, I decided taking online courses would fit into my hectic schedule. In High School I enjoyed taking Sociology and Psychology so I figured those two classes would be fun and interesting to start with. Not only have I enjoyed this class, I have decided to major in Sociology. Taking this class awakened the interest and excitement that I had back in High School. I am looking forward to continuing down this path. While I enjoyed the entire course, I specifically enjoyed chapter 8, Global Inequality. I†¦show more content†¦Society has long sought to find a definite difference between what is natural and what is too harsh for children. There are obvious cases of abuse and improper treatment of child laborers as there have been for years, and it is obvious that it is in no way beneficial to the children to work as they do. There then comes a question of whether or not something should be done and if so then what. Child labor is an issue rooted in the very idea that sometimes, the members of society have a responsibility to the rest of society to work for the good of those people who cannot work for themselves. The children involved never have and do not now possess the capability to seek change. This ability lies solely in the rest of society. The issue then becomes a question of how people respond to social responsibility. It is easy to separate oneself from social responsibilities as many people in the countries of global power, like the United States, do not have a real or serious problem of child labor. They are really above the problems of modern child labor as the only real contact that they have with it is when the major companies therein are accused of contributing to the hiring of unfairly compensated and over-worked child employees. Child labor stands as a strong example of how some changes must be brought upon by people outside of the circle.
